12 Rules for a Safety Hiking
There are some very basic hiking rules that should not miss on any of the world travel blog sites. Those rules are meant to ensure safety for the mountain lovers and to make their hiking more beautiful and relaxing.
Hiking is not only an outdoor activity which provides you many health benefits, it also carry a certain amount of risk if you do not take the following guidelines into account:
1. Do not go on the mountain without an equipment adequate to the weather conditions;
2. Before you go hiking make sure you are well-informed about the itinerary (hiking terrain conditions and hiking weather conditions);
3. Be well-informed about the phone numbers useful in the area: mountain rescue, police etc;
4. Do not hike alone, take with you at list two fellow hikers including at least one who know the area thoroughly;
5. Let the chalet supervisor know about the route you want to follow;
6. Do not deviate from the rout and avoid shortcuts;
7. Avoid shouting and making any other noise in areas where they can cause avalanches; when crossing favorable avalanche slopes, group members should keep a distance of several feet between them;
8. Ski only on the appropriate slopes for your training and experience;
9. Do not drink alcoholic beverages, they diminish exercise capacity;
10. Smoking while walking is totally contraindicated;
11. Pay attention to what you eat. On the mountain, in the cold season, is recommended especially fatty and sugary foods, lemonade and hot, sweet drinks. Avoid spicy food;
12. A small first aid kit should not miss from your backpack.
